Can I Divorce Based on Lies?

DEAR AUNTIE ABENA,

Please I want to ask if someone can divorce based on lies. I have been married for 2 years now and when I met my husband, he told me that he lives in Canada.

We dated for a year and got married but I got to find out after marriage that he actually lives in Kuwait. I’m a nurse and had soo many plans but he screwed it all up. I am not interested in the marriage again because anytime I want to forgive him, I remember all the lies and it gets me crazy.

I had to join him in Kuwait and work as a sales girl here because he wouldn’t be able to get a job when he comes to Ghana. I am fed up Aunty Abena. I want to know how long it can take to get a divorce.

The most dangerous part is that he had the courage to lie to my family and pastor too about where he stays.
